Oh man, I have that exact same lathe, it's a Honden Lathe and been looking for years to get one or two parts off one. Great little secondary lathe that was really well made, accurate, smooth and direct copy of the Austrian Emco Compact 8. Should have looked at my emails sooner, I would have done the drive.

Nice find and hope someone on GJ scored it.

Logan Quick Change lathe MDL: 825-1 - $600 (Arcadia)

For west coast GJ members. Hard to tell quality until looked at and looks a little low on tooling. Price looks negotiable. Could be a good deal after cleaning up and lower price. South Bend above is a smoking deal if it can keeps tolerances and tool holders are included.

Good price for that with the quick change gear box and everything?
(Still on there too)
I have the 10" with manual change gears, (Logan/Wards) but I did the wiper motor leadscrew conversion. It's pretty slick.
Sadly, since I moved everything is crammed in the garage, I was better off at My old place. hindsight is 20/20

Looks like a Dake but not certain, but here's a 3 ton ratcheting arbor press for $40 (which is just a RIDICULOUS deal). Would be all over this if I didn't already have one. Looks like they're including all of the various jigs, too.

That's actually from the other side of the pacific but good find and a smoking cheap price. A big capacity and has the ratchet crank.
Sweet!

That's probably north of $2k just for the scrap steel if it can't be fixed or put to work. I wonder what it would cost to get it moved.

Probably a bit further north of your 2K estimate. Otherwise we wouldn’t be looking at that ad.

I attended an auction of an old time machine shop that had lots of obsolete monster machines like that. Many items didn’t get bid on even though bidding started at $5. Terms were you had to move the things out within 48 hours and couldn’t do any disassembly on site.
I was there for the old vises but those went for crazy high prices even before figuring in the various premiums charged by the auction house.

Scrap price for that machine should be approx. $2,150.00 in NY, maybe less. Most of it is cast iron. $0.025-$0.05 per pound.

Actual weight: 35,000-42,000 lbs.

Cant see anyone with the type of needed machinery and labor to lift it and haul it away would deal with the time and expense of moving 18 tons of scrap for just $2,150 but I could be very wrong.

Maybe a crew heading home from another job, the mill and scrap yard is on the way and they could use some beer money.

Yates American Variable Speed 12” Lathe 220v 1ph Cast Iron - $400
220v 1ph Variable speed lathe in good running condition...Just needs paint! Comparable to Delta & Powermatic, Yates American made good quality machines. Nothing wrong with this lathe....I just found a deal on a slightly bigger one. Come out and take a look!

Very nice machine.
I think it's a good deal.
Reminds me of my Oliver.
