Been discussed here several times. Health clubs throw away yoga mats all the time. Ask around at local clubs, especially if you're a member; I know a guy who had more than he and all his friends could use in just a short time.

Aren't they a bit thick to be used as liners?

IMHO, yes.

Quality .050" PVC drawer liner is the best and it's pretty inexpensive when bought in a full roll.

A thick liner can mean the difference of a full drawer closing or not. Why buy expensive storage units just to limit their drawer capacity with stall mats, carpet, exercise mats, worn out conveyor belts or other materials.

I thought he was gonna say to use under the car to lay on.. I have a set of those HF padded floor tiles that I use for that. They are great cause they lock together to make whatever size you need, and then come apart to store.

They are expensive new, but if you see one at a yard sale or something can be had next to nothing. Keep an eye out for them next time wife drags you shopping.

They used to be free after rebate from Menard's. I got a bunch that I use for fender covers.
