The company has been around for years, with this basic style of tool getting increasingly complicated as they add more things to it. Often found as part of a multi-pack at Costco. The same company used to make a tiny multi-tool that was styled like a key and fit onto a key ring. They're usually made pretty well.

They're kind of fun to fiddle with, but I haven't found them that useful as a real tool.

As a fellow EDC'r, do your self a favor and carry a real multi-tool if having screwdrivers and pliers is important to you. A light-duty multi-tool like the leatherman Juice S2 isn't much bigger, and much more capable. If that's too big the squirt series is about the size of the swiss tool. the swiss tool seems novel from the few I've played with. I don't see it as useful on anything but no-torque screws in small items. I've used my Juice S2 in a data center racking servers, around the office, in the shop....a real multi-tool is where it's at!

That was my concern, neat gadget but not very functional.

mrjaw14, I will certainly check out the Leatherman Juice S2, thanks for the pointer!

I've owned a few Swiss+Tech products over the years and my general impression was that they looked neat but were poorly designed and really poorly made. Their Utili-key 6-In-1, http://www.swisstechtools.com/proddetail.aspx?pid=5 and Utili-Key XT 8-In-1, http://www.swisstechtools.com/proddetail.aspx?pid=16 are probably the best of their designs. The 6-In 1 I had is made from brittle steel, I've had more than one snap, The design is unsafe to use, and as far as I'm aware the company has nothing to do with the Swiss or Switzerland. As far as quality I'd say it's about the same as better toys that you used to be able to get from gum ball machines.

I like to keep the utilikey on me to open boxes when I don't want to dull my leatherman wave's knife.

I've had a Juice CS4 for years good tool! A bit bigger than the S2, but I don't carry it in my pants pocket, it's my battle jacket jacket/fanny pack tool for camping hiking and the like.

I carry that one and also one they make that looks like another key. Both are quality made in stainless. If for some odd reason I don't have my Victrinox on me these work well in a pinch. And the little pliers will open your beer bottle.;)

I carry the one they make that looks like a key. I never notice it on my keychain, and it has been very handy on multiple occasions. It has a straight/serrated knife, Phillips and a flat head screwdriver, and a bottle opener.

Gerber Shortcut is my EDC, I use scissors more than anything on it. I keep a cheap Smith and Wesson multitool in each car with pliers etc. Wife has that SwissTech, one donated to TSA, one in her purse, spare on the shelf.

Everyone should have one of these:

I have a couple of the other type multi tools they make, not that model. They look cool, but for anything other than really light work, they aren't much.

For a really small multi tool, I do like the Leatherman Micra. Again they are for small stuff, but seem to be made much better and using better quality parts.

I have one about the same as the one in the link but with contour handles. When fully closed there are no sharp edges like on the earlier models. They've also moved up to making them out of stainless. They are for small tasks but are useful. I mostly use mine to pluck the child safety strap off the Bic lighters.

I have had one for years. It seems to be well made. I USED to carry it on my keyring. However after tearing holes in several pairs of pants I stopped carrying it. (It has a lot of sharp edges that WILL destroy your pockets!)

That would be my kinda woman! LOL :D

Getting back to the OP, I have a couple of those, and although neat, not 100% practical. Although i must say, it has come in handy a bunch of times.
