Found a new multi-tool (not what you think)

Sifting thru some bins at an estate sale and I came across this Vulcan knife/measuring tape combo tool. I've never seen anything like it in the wild before. It was just too different to leave there. Paid $1 for it.
Takes standard triangle blades, and the tape measure is marked in both SAE and metric. Really nice to have mm on the tape.

Going to take it to work for a week and see how she fares.

The first thing that came to mind is that would be nice for flooring, carpet or maybe roofing.

What a weird idea. That seems like it would be awkward to hold as a knife, and impossible to make an inside measurement with as a tape.

I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat, just as you did.

Personally, I despise tapes with MM on 1 edge and inch on the other, always seems to end up with the MM side on the side of what I'm trying to measure in inches. YMMv
