I just purchased a quantity of Proto and Gray NOS used deep sockets. In the lot were two 20.6mm 1/2 drive 12pt deep sockets. Made by Gray Canada. Nothing different then the 20mm and 21mm after it. Has anyone else seen other brands that made these? I know it is the same as a 13/16 but it is not built like a spark plug socket.

My first thought went to spark plug socket as well. Koken labels them as 20.8mm (on the left).

I have as older SK 1/4 socket set that has 6.3 mm socket 1/4 is what it really is but made in the days of american cars with both sizes so a set would kind of cover all the sizes.

I've been seeing a bunch of metric stuff market with sae sizes.

Its kind of weird unless you regognize the conversion. A wrench set with 3.2, 4.8mm that kind of stuff. It was weird to see it marked in decimal format,

...but surely it was meant to be SAE/Fractional sizing.

A long time ago, when Urea hand tolls were basically PROTO Mexico, they used to label their wrenches with SAE sizes on one side and the MM equivalent on the other side. I always thought is was strange. :dunno:

They should use tools like that in tech schools.

I have a taiwanese 1/2" drive metric socket set from force tools. It includes a spark plug socket of 20.6 m size. It fits perfectly on my suzuki car spark plug. My socket has rubber inside it, to hold the spark plug, but if your socket doesnt have one, I think it is still a spark plug socket. I have attached my socket pic here

I think my one old snap on 13/16" spark plug socket has both 13/16" and 10.6mm marked on it.
