I picked up this Quincy QT-54 vertical compressor last week, and the only thing that it needs is a new magnetic starter switch. It came from a bankrupt business, and the people removing it, had no idea how to get into the switch, so they pried the cover off, destroying the case. It is a Baldor 3 HP motor, with a 2 stage compressor, and what I believe to be a 60 gallon tank. I already have a Quincy QT-25 Horizontal 80 gallon tank with a pressure lubricated 2 stage compressor head and a 5 HP Baldor motor. The QT-25 takes up a lot more real estate in the garage than the vertical QT-54. I bought the QT-25 about 18 years ago, and it is like new, I bought the QT-54 for a C note, in a package with another item. The main reason for buying the QT-54 was that there was a refrigerated air dryer, that was originally attached to the compressor, and this was what I was actually going for. They wouldn't see just the dryer, without the compressor, but was willing to sell the compressor separately. The seller thought that the most value was in the dryer, so I bought the compressor and then went back the next day to cut a deal on the dryer. The Dryer is a SMC IDFB3E, and I got that for $275. I also bought a 55 gallon Barrel Blaster and that is why I wanted the dryer.
Help me to decide which one to keep...... Keep the QT-25 or the QT-54??

Fix it, put them both on CL for a ridiculous price and keep the one that doesn't sell.
