I posted recently about a Leg Vise I found and restored on my new property. I just realized I had another gem. A Shoulder Hand Drill. It was crusty rusted solid with a broken bit still in the chuck. I had it on a shelf as a conversation piece in my outdoor bar.
I decided to give it new life. I went in with guns blazing and used Muratic Acid. All rust dissolved in minutes. Even the chuck works now. Put a new bit in it and drilled a piece of wood..
One final step is needed..
Still deciding if I just want to use a coat of linseed oil on it and keep the classic weathered look or paint and try to restore like new.. Leaning towards the weathered look.
