Found a solution to my KR-690 need.

So I’ve been looking for a KR690/691 top chest for several years. Impossible to find by itself near me , the ones I found for sale all come with the bottom box. So I bit the bullet and bought a Harbor Freight 72” top and added another KR 290 to my bottom stack. Hangs off the back about an inch but overall it fits well and matched pretty good. I debadged it so the bottom wouldn’t reject it. Overall I like it but I was way disappointed that the top compartment is so short. It won’t take my 1/2” deep sockets standing up or most of my socket sets in blow molded cases. Lame! I made it work but dumb design for sure

Bottom box is painted Kirker Viper Red urethane, the KR-290 missing the drawers is Rust-o-Leum Cherry red gloss (waiting on more paint for rest of drawers) Top is US-General red. Overall not a bad color match!
