That is one of the most desireable CMan ratchets for collectors. Only a little practical use these days.

I've owned 3 of those over time. I kept telling myself they might be useful but the only use I found for them was selling them. They're high on the coolness scale though.

Go have some fun with it. take it to Sears and tell them you want a replacement then watch the kid search up and down the aisles looking for it. Try not to laugh too hard at him tho!! Very cool find. dont think i've ever seen ne of those before.

I've tried and tried and tried to come up with a justification for owning one of those, and I still can't remember a time where one would have come in handy.

Which *****, because they look like they'd be real handy!

Congrats on the score--ebay it and chuckle all the way to the bank.

Put it in your back pocket. You just don't see them, and that is in fine condition. Recently, I noticed even the cherry ones aren't going for as much. Lucky to break $75... And your ratchet isn't quite cherry. Hang on to it, and enjoy it. Never know if you'll see another...

I enjoy mine!

Edit, Oh, it was made around 1960-63.

Step 1: Spray paint it silver.
Step 2: Post on eBay.
Step 3: Profit!

Just kidding of course but that's a cool old ratchet. I'm 45 and I bet that's before my time even.

Don't spray paint it!!! You'll totally ruin its originality and devalue it for collectors. If you plan to sell it, leave it in "as found" condition.

I know this is blasphemy, but that ratchet would be a GREAT little stubby ratchet if you cut off the roller handle end.
