Found caliper hangers at Dollar Tree

Thought some of you may be interested in these. They’re identical to the ones that go for 10 bucks on Amazon.

$10?? Those look awfully long. I just bend up a short length from a coat hanger when needed.

I keep a bunch on hand to hang up parts when painting too.

You must have some nice coat hangers. No coat hanger I own could support the weight of a caliper on my stuff.

I keep a roll of very heavy stainless wire around for such things. A piece that long is probably a nickels worth.

lol, I buy those all the time. cheaper than making them on the bender, and they fit the poles on my canopy tent perfectly. I probably have 20 or more of them, and another couple dozen for hanging all my lanterns.

unfortunately they are seasonal and won't be in stock again til spring.

one other handy thing at dollar tree is the white over the door hanger with 6 hooks. I hang it on the 2x4 in the overhang for all my barbeque stuff near the smoker and another on the wok.

tool guys at the big swap meets usually have bags of 10 vinyl coated 6" long 2packs for $5 .I have a few packs in the draw

Love me some Tri-tip! hard to find in my area unfortunately but when I do, they go through a formal naming ritual before the fire Gods as they are slowly grilled!

I too use metal coat hangers, because that's how my uncle showed me how to do it 30+ years ago. If the hanger seems too weak, run it through the caliper and attach both ends to the vehicle (I usually go to the strut/spring).

Never thought about using a zip tie, that should definitely work!

You must have some nice coat hangers. No coat hanger I own could support the weight of a caliper on my stuff.

I knocked the flux off a couple 5/32" welding rods to make mine. They're plenty strong enough.

The 10 dollar packs have 30 just in case you need to hang calipers wherever you go. The restroom, your friends kitchen, in the shower. Super convenient

The legs from campaign signs work well when bent into an S shape, I've used the wire hanger the parts places use to hang exhaust pipes but they're not as sturdy. Right now I'm using wire rack pieces that I cut and bent onto an S. I'm always losing them so I'm not buying purpose built caliper hangers

I have a pair of these I use for hanging calipers:

I had to open them up a little to make them easier to put on and take off, but for $2 they work well.

I've always kept a half dozen pieces of 14 ga wire from NMD cable around for hanging calipers or anything else in my way working on vehicles. It's easy to work with, as strong as you want if you add more wraps and the insulation keeps it from scratching. You can also feed it through a hole on an inner fender if there's nothing to hook to in the wheel well.

Just my two cents... I don't remember who taught me that, but I doubt that I thought of it all on my own.

Gonna get off topic a bit but you do a couple at 250 with red oak and reverse sear it to 130 for about 10 minutes they will come out beautiful
