Awesome! That is a great shop size! If you can afford it, pour a pad 4" and pour it 12x12 or square to whatever width you have there.

I thought about that but the guy told me over time the garage may settle a little and may have to jack it up here and there and shim it. I am leaning toward some large stone fill then chat to finish it off.

Well make sure you put a road matting or something under the rock to keep it from sinking into oblivion in the soil. And of course make sure you peel the top soil off before hand too.

I decided to build a 4' wooden approach for now. I had the 5/4 deck boards left over from my deck I built last September so I only had to buy the treated 2x6s.

I like all the advice here I can get. I just couldn't afford what I would have liked to do. I bought some 12' 2x4 and am going to put a small loft in it and some shelving.
