Based on pictures I have seen on this board I recognized it as Hazet before I read the writing. It was a weird socket so I looked it up tonight. It's a tool for the delivery valve on Mercedes-Benz Diesel injection pumps. Sells for $60 and up. I may put it in the classifieds soon.

Anyways, it was cool to hold a Hazet in my hands after reading about them on here. The finish cold get addicting to me.

Is it splined?

Yeah. 1/2" Drive. A little dirty yet but if it's been used, it's been barely used.

I bet that Moose would get the most use out of it.

I've used them a couple times before on Merc pumps to replace seals, but not a regular thing by any means. I think they work on Bosch P-pump delivery valves too. (Cummins ISB/ISC?etc) I can order these sockets through work, only difference being they have a Mercedes-Benz part number on them.

Am I expecting too much for it?

In your part of the world, no. Not at all. I think the Blue-Point version is about $35. Samstag want $78 for a Hazet one like yours. You could probably get $40-ish for it, maybe a little more seeing as how it's like new.

They're $40-ish new in Germany/Europe, on eBay. But they're much more readily available over here.

North London. I used to work for a friend who owned a few trucks with Cummins engines and we rebuilt injector pumps too, so these sockets saw their use working on delivery valves. Not something you'd use that often unless you were a diesel specialist, or in the US worked on Rams/etc with Cummins engines.

Wont fit IS_ but possibly 6BT (which is what you meant) Have 2 of the cummins specific ones, a BP/snap on and some no name and always wondered if the MB one would fit. :)

You typically define them as electronic or mechanical (ecm or no ecm), or 12v vs 24v. 24v could be common rail or bosch rotary VP. 6BT is usually P7100 or Bosch rotary VE.

Oh. They were 5.9s (and i think some 4.5 4-cylinders?) and we rebuilt the pumps (P-Pumps) on them. Didn't do any other work on them really. I think my friend's recovery truck had a 5.9 in it, but it was a common rail engine.
