Found on key ring, what is it?

This was with some old tools. At first I thought it was a bottle opener but if so its a bad one.

Can't figure what else it would be? Appears to be made of aluminum, no markings.

Looks like it might help with screw off bottle tops. Does the step match with the shape of a twist off crown? And do the teeth line up with the serrations on a crown?

What about the twist off top bottles or what about just a standard twist lid jar to help twist them open in general. I knew someone who had something similar just was longer and not a key ring that was used to help twist open just regular twist caps on everyday jars

Could we get an edge on view. It almost looks like in pic 1 the segments increase in thickness from one end to the other. Similar to a plug gap gauge.

Yes it looks just like the promotional dip openers from Copenhagen. Except mine doesn't have any branding.

There are a lot for sale on eBay but they all say Copenhagen on the tooth side.

Yep, that's just like it. Thanks everyone, never having partaken in tobacco products i never would have guessed it was a snuff lid opener.
