FOUND! - Snap-On used the Bonney Name

Most of us know that Snap-On owns the Bonney Trademark. Many of us also have wondered why? Why don't they bring Bonney wrenches back? Well, while conducting research this morning I found the attached picture in the record trail for the original Bonney trademark. Here is the link to the Bonney Trademark document trail, the picture is in the "Specimen" file dated April 28, 2008.

Notice on the shaft Snap-On is forged in, and "Bonney" into the face. Anybody happen to have an example??

Snap on was in a buying type mood you know a bogo deal ; hey lets buy one company and get the other trademark for free...

Well it sounded good anyways.

That's an interesting observation Twertsy. You made me look at a few images of these torque wrench heads, and saw examples with Bonney having Snap On 2000 and 2001 date codes from what I can tell.

the more companies a group like snap on owns the less competitors out there. equals bigger sales for snap on , hence why snap on also other companies mainly sold outside of the us but still, not a thing to dismiss

I hear what you are saying, but take a company like Stanley they bought out craftsman, how long can Stanley keep making so many different tool brands something has to give ?

Snap on buys the name I thought they would own the rights and just shelve the name.

Yeah, Steve at Epstein's told me that, and I called Granco and talked to one of their vice presidents, who told me they had the dies and pull broaches and were planning on re-introducing the tools slowly over time. Then they ran into financial troubles.

In fact, Epstein's has one of long aerospace style DBE's stamped "GRANCO" for sale and claimed to have been made with Bonney dies.
