found some storage crates

You might have to look around for better prices, but I found some storage crates. I built custom shelving to fit 4 crates per shelf.

The 2 shelves with the gray and blue crates actually have 4 crates on each shelf
Top gray in the view is abrasives, top blue is car cleaning supplies
Gray in middle is rags and blue has my funnels
Red on the bottom is my trailer wiring supplies

Wow. RIF = Reading Is Fundimental. The price on Amazon is $24 for SIX. OP says he paid $4 each at Walmart. Same price but no shipping delay.

Nice job Lkdelta. I have several milk crates for various uses. I often use one as a step stool in the garage. For storage in the garage I find Sterilite totes with the clip handles work better for me. They keep dust out and little parts don't fall out. The two best times of year to get them cheaper are now, for back to college, and in January when it seems retailers think everyone has resolved to declutter their homes for the new year. They usually cost from $6.99 to $9.99.

This is why I asked, as I saw 6x crates for the first link, and 3x crates for the second, and neither divided out to $24 per crate.

BTW, they were rather handy when I was in college, and then were re-purposed later (found them quite useful for storing cleaners under cabinets.

I think it is 6 gallon milk jugs fit into 1 crate, price is for 3 crates. Milk crates are awesome, they are super rugged. They make them in I think 4 gallon size and half sizes.

Normally just under $4, but they go sale quite often for around $3. Hard to find more than a few in the same color though, sometimes they have white, black, green, blue, etc.

The bottom link is for a 6 gallon milk crate...it is a lot more rugged than the file crate advertised in the top link. About $22 for 3 of them

A milkcrate works great when cutting firewood. A gallon of fuel, a gallon of chain lube, couple tools, and drinks all fit perfectly.

This is about the best price I have found for real milk crates ($9.99). Unless you buy them in bulk then I have seen them for about $5 each. The best part is you can get an assortment of colors to help try and keep stuff organized.

The ones you get may be "owned" you shouldn't sell them if they have owners marks it could get you in trouble. They are usually stamped with the name of the dairy company/farm on them.

I've used Sterilite before...they're to brittle and crack all the time. I'm sticking with Rubbermaid roughnecks....almost indestructible.
