Thanks to a Garage Journal member I found the casters I needed for my (new to me) Williams bottom tool cart. After I installed them I was able to move the top and bottom together and I thoroughly cleaned the top chest drawers in preparation for arranging new tools (Various brands - some German, American, Japanese, etc.). It's gonna be fun.
However one of the drawer slides (bottom right on a deeper drawer) is broken beyond repair. The drawer slides out fine half way. The second half is the problem.
Photos are below:
However for information, the slides are made in Korea (it's my first tool-related item from Korea as far as I know) made by Jeonhan Slide Company, and the part number stamped on the slide is 8-04988AR.
Snap-on lists some very similar part numbers - just to give one example ( 8-05488AS ) but not the exact number I have. However I take this as a sign that they are probably available. I really like this Williams box. Top and bottom closely resemble the similar boxes in the current catalog. The build quality (although not Epiq) is very good. It's in good condition and it came with an amazing tool haul of used tools that I'll try to post in the near future. (I am hoping it qualifies for "you ****" honors). And the two bottom drawers are deeper and it looks like both could be fitted with two slides per side instead of the one it came with for increased capacity.

So does anyone have any leads on drawer slides? Thanks in advance !

(I wasn't able to upload the catalog photo of the similar current model... I'll try again later. If you want to see it, open it in another window.)

Good idea... I'll give them a call tomorrow. I agree there is always a lot of good information at the source. But I could have followed the same advice for the casters. And since Snap-on or Williams don't make the casters or the drawer slides themselves, finding an alternate source can save a lot of money. For example I paid about $50 each for casters that Snap-on lists for $135 each. They list friction slides cheaper, but it appears that ball bearing drawer slides start at about $135 on the Snap-on site.

It's not like they haven't already made a little money on me. I don't mind paying up occasionally such as a set of metric open end/flare nut wrenches... can't beat 'em. And I'm strongly considering the 3/8" drive dual 80 speeder handle flex head ratchet which I can afford if I save enough on the casters and the drawer slides.

The company that made that box was SPG International. They made really nice stuff, I almost bought one. They died in a Nafta skirmish with the US.

I am interested whether that company has distribution in North America.

For you casters go to your local Caster store or go online. Here's my local one and they have more styles of casters than you can shake a stick at. I went there for some cheap bearings and ended up with $100+ worth of stuff that I did not know existed and was perfect for some projects.
