Saw this in the paper this week.

There was a problem with an outdoor A/C unit and this is what it was.

We don't normally see a lot of Boa Constrictors in Indiana. The assumption is this is someone's pet that got too big, so they decided to let it go. It had to find somewhere warm to hangout so....

It got across the circuit and became energized. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your personal phobias) it didn't survive the jolt.

How did it get in there?
Any where I have worked required all electrical boxes covers must be closed
and any holes must be covered. Unless you are working in the box.

I would burn my house down and run.

Coincidentally I was building a deck for a customer and a garter snake came out of a crack in the guys foundation. I spent an hour standing in the bed of my truck. I threw almost every small tool I had at the thing, but it just stayed put. Finally the homeowner got home, picked it up, and relocated it. I am terrified of those things.

Sorry for the sideways pic. The serpent is in the corner of the first cement stair.

I recently found a mouse across the 2 hot legs of the breaker panel. I will bet he ....she.....didn't have a molecule of moisture left in its body. Pretty crispy!
