Found this little Rigid Pipe Wrench

Found this buried on a pallet that was heading to the scrap dumpster.

It found its way to the back of my truck.

It is 48 inch, actually it looks like 47 because someone did a little grinding at the end of the handle. The jaws have very little wear on them.

Its gonna get a electrolysis bast and repainted when the weather gets better.

Rigid pipe wrench of that size will be handy or at least be worth keeping. Good eyes!

I can't remember if this was a 48" or a 60". But I have a love hate relationship with them (we have both sizes) I hate having to use them but love when they do the job when a 24 or 36 won't.

It's a big effing wrench. Great score!

Years ago, My father in law made a comment about that you can tell if a hardware store is a real hardware store unless they have at least a 48 inch pipe wrench. So I purchased him a 48 inch for his Christmas and a 6 inch for his birthday in mid January.

I was in East Stroudsburg PA a while ago and we wandered into the old time hardware store. It had a LOT of dusty old stuff with handwritten tags wired to the items.

There was a nut that must have been 8" across and the corresponding wrench for it.

They don't have an internet presence (not surprised) but I snagged a pic from Google Street view.
