I was driving home Friday and saw a black case in the middle of the road. I told myself to "Keep going, you already stop and pick up too much stuff.", but after another mile or so , it got the best of me.

I drove back and tossed it in the back of my truck, waited about 20 minutes in case someone came back looking for it, then headed home.

The case was pretty beat up a wrench had fallen out and been run over a few times. Overall though, it's in good shape. It's Stanley brand.

I've had a similar set from Stanley (made in Taiwan) for 15-20 years... It was really my first socket set. They've held up to everything I've given it. I've since upgraded to some US made sockets and ratchets, but I still find myself reaching for this set out of habit.

And, for you, the price was right!

I found the lower half of one of those too. Unfortunately mine was missing most of the tools.

Maybe someone tossed them out of their truck after learning about the quality of Stanley china tools!

Nice. Someones signature here says how terrorism has ruined the art of picking up deserted bags or something to that nature. Pretty funny

Wish I had gotten a picture but...had a smaller box of sockets with a ratchet and some extensions scattered in the center turn lane in front of my work. I checked a couple of sockets and discovered that they were cheap no-name sockets so I just left them. Had they been a nicer set I might have gathered what I could.

Some of them are still mashed into the asphalt!

Had my Craftsman toolbox fall off the back of my pickup in 2003. Probably $500 or more worth of good quality tools. Put ad in newspaper lost & found and a guy called and brought it back. I tried to give hime some money but he wouldn't take it.

I suggest looking in the newspaper lost & found to see if someone is looking for it. It's the right thing to do.
