Cleaning out a box from an estate sale I bought many years ago!
Not sure what this is but it mounts with 2 feet maybe 10" total length
Any ideas?

In the picture, does the bottom threaded piece screw into the frame? I would guess it's an adjustment piece off of something. It appears the worm gear, on top in the picture, probably turned another gear. Just a complete guess, but it sure looks handy.

I'll be up all night now. It looks soooo familiar.
I've seen that part of a larger machine. I'm pretty sure I worked on it. I may even have owned it.

It looks like the accessory drive off of an engine that typically operates items such as generators and ignition distributor.

60s and 70s Ford pickups have rag joints (steering couplers) that attach the column to the steering box and look very much like the two on your piece. That was my first thought...that it was part of the steering mechanism for a smaller piece of equipment. However, that small worm gear is too lightweight for a vehicle...so I don't know either, unless it's maybe for something like a golf cart?

With two rag-joints, I can't see it being for any high rpm or high torque application.
I'd be surprised if it was even made to do a complete revolution.
