Hey Guys,
Just laying out some drawings for foundation plans and was thinking about how to finish the interior part of my block wall that will be inside the building. Here is some info first off, I will be doing footings with a 6 foot block wall on top, (4 foot below grade, 2 foot above) using standard block 8x8x16, and will be using 2" rigid insulation against the block wall throughout the interior (4 foot wide sheets covering 2 foot above grade and 2 foot below) and 3" rigid insulation underneath the slab. When time comes I was thinking when using 2x6 for framing my bottom sill plate will be flush to the outside of the block leaving me with a 2.5" lip on the interior and then 2 foot vertical of rigid foam, how do I finish this ? I will be doing either plywood or drywall but was just thinking of how I will be fastening any of that over my foam? and I will also have that horizontal of 2.5" of block exposed where the sill plate sits and wondered if this would cause a lot of heat loss as well? Also wondering how my rigid insulation for the slab and block wall layout sounds? if anyone came across this when finishing there shop and has pics that would be great.
Thanks
