I know that prices can vary widely from region to region, but what is the current rate for a framing crew to put up a garage?I'm interested in labour only, let's say a basic single story, gable roof,30x30,no interior walls.

Throw an add up on Craigs List requesting a quote for the labor, I would list the posting under "Skilled Trade". I have done this for a number of services in my garage business for electrial and plumbing parts of the job that I either do not want to tackle myself or just don't have the time.

I don't know how the construction business is in your area, but I know in my area A LOT of guys are hungry for work. Very skilled guys eager to keep their guys busy. I bet now is the best time to get a good deal on having something built. Both parties will benefit in my opinion.

I'm just about finished with my 40x56x12 (pole barn). My brother in law and I did the build ourselves. I originally got an estimate for a 32x48x12. The estimate was $2600 for rough in and $4000 to complete (siding and shingles). They wanted an extra $600 for overhead door instalation. Not too bad. I think there a little slow and what to get some extra business. This was from one of the biggest builders in the area. -MATT

Matt you got a deal on that one. I don't think I could get a roofer to pick up the phone for less than 4G, a framer, definately not.

I would typically have priced out those kind of jobs on either a square footage basis or as labour cost being equal to material cost plus 25%.

I agree with Big Ed, As far as labor to build a 30x30 I did a 20x30 and the labor for that was $6500, pretty much 2 weeks. That was roofing, siding, framing, trim. No interior finish
