So I was strolling Lowes this evening after work, needed some trimmer line, but thought I would check out the tool section. I saw a center display in the tool world for Irwin's new T&G pliers. They had a box were if you turn in one of your old T&G pliers you could get a new pair of the Irwins for free.
Downside is that they are made in China, and have a push button locking mechanism that requires additional thinking to open. I don't think I will be trading in any of my USA pliers for a pair of these, but just thought I would throw it out there. To me they seemed pretty cheese. I think I could pretty easily break them in my hand if I really tried. Price was $12.98 or "Free" with a trade in.
Has anyone done this so far?

I didn't even see them and I was in 2 different lowes today?
I just don't understand it.
Just like at sears when people turn in a USA tool for China.
. You should have asked to buy the channellocks. Or next time bring in a pair of your worn out T&G's and trade them for the channellocks instead of the Irwins.
