Picked mine up this morning. I had loaded the coupon to my SYW account but still had to read the number to the cashier. Would have been easier if I had just printed it out. Either way, free stocking stuffer for the nephew.

I got the email too. No Sears store close enough to make it worth going in for me though.

On mine the subject was "a free gift for you, just because you're appreciated" and then in the email it say the same thing pretty much. With a link to the coupon. I guess the awarding and the gift can vary. Im VIP platinum and have been getting squat in surprise points lately. While others seem to be getting them all the time.

Got my email on Sunday as well.

got mine yesterday...didn't realize it was the miniature version or I wouldn't have bothered wasting the gas...but free is free...

btw, also got a $13 rewards point bonus on a $15 mens clothing purchase. that and $1.50 in points I had + free shipping got me a nice sweater for $0.75 delivered! unfortunately the <$1 charge on my debit card flagged my credit union and took 2 days to get my card re-instated off the stolen id list!

I got a $10 back in points for spending $15 yesterday. Bought a Gearwrench thumb wheel ratchet set that was $27. Applied $10 of surprise points I had that were going to expire then got $10 back in points. So basically $9 out of pocket after tax.

And they are regular points that don't expire for a year so hopefully I'll get some decent surprise points in the next few days to stack with them.

In case anyone is interested, the Knipex 10" Pliers Wrench is showing $45 at Sears dot com right now. Could be a good deal if you have some points to use.

I went to pick mine up last night and the three colors on the coupon were all gone and they would not substitute any of the other colors.

I guess I didn't see that - when I went to Sears, I grabbed a red one off the shelf, as that was all that was there, and they said that color doesn't qualify. Couldn't believe it. They found me a blue one and sent me on my way. Go figure.

A little small, but I was going by anyway. At least I don't feel like it was a waste like when I spend my time getting stuff at harbor freight. Between earned and surprise points I got two magnetic trays, the rebranded Lang three piece bit ratchet set, and the tool for about seven bucks. I wish sears could pull it together, I still love the craftsman brand and wish nothing but the best towards it. The tool section is a sad husk of what it used to be though, and without drastic management changes, there is not much hope in the near term. I'm hoping for an eventual apex purchase, followed by restoring of American production, a general upscaling of the brand, and despite the seeming contradiction, the line being offered at auto parts stores, similar to how proto used to be. The full line wouldn't be stocked of course, but everything would be available to order or if necessary warranty with less than a two day wait. It would be awesome. I also think there should be a clamping down on tool abusers... What can I say, I'm a dreamer.

I was in my local store about three weeks ago, and they were doing a warranty replacement for someone whose tools had been through a fire. Not just one or two pieces, mind you, but lots of stuff. That, I thought, is abusive and they should have told him to take a hike. It's not Sears fault that he had a fire. I hope the associate had the good sense to take the blackened tools home with him and clean them up, as a fringe benefit.

By the way, just saw the new 75t ratchets at my local Sears - they didn't yet have a place to hang them, just threw them on the lower shelves, no price, nothing. I've noticed that the local store is remiss in marking clearance and discount items as well - many items that have drastically lowered prices on the internet, still show full price in the store.
