I did this "course" a few weeks back and actually got the free orange thread locker. The orange is supposed to have the strength of red with ease of removal of blue. Been using the orange for a while, but have not removed anything with it yet.
It's a pretty big container they give you too!

I feel like orange has been out for a while has it not, feel like I bought some two or three years ago.

Maybe they are trying to get more exposure to it.

Just done it. I only got 75% twice but still says they are sending me one lol. Hopefully it shows up. I like using orange. Nobody at work had ever seen it before I brought it in haha.

I just did it, 62 percent, still good enough for the free threadlocker. Thanks op.
I usually use permatex blue, for stuff like caliper bracket bolts, but this will be good to have around for mower blades or more permanent stuff, with a little more forgiveness than red.

Nice! Done and on the way.

I missed one question about "active" metals, but then again I spent a whole three minutes reading the course.

The whole active and inactive metals thing really got the gears grinding in my head.

I've had problems putting Loctite on knives whose pivot/clip/handle screws that had been coated (but not blued)--teflon, Cerakote, and Titanium Nitride to name a few.

With the crib notes from others posting, I got a 7/8. Helps when I know what to pay attention to

I like the fact that the orange thread locker is in an orange bottle! Instead of red in blue and blue in red.
Agreed.

The Permatex brand (usually) does this (bottle color normally matches the label and product color), and it makes things one hell of a lot easier than using Loctite brand stuff, which is all in red containers. However, both brands have variations within the colors and it's still a confusing mess of numbers and nomenclature.

Stir in dirty, worn bottles or tubes and it can be a giant asspain to keep everything straight.

I don’t know how long this stuff has been available but I have already been using it before coming across this thread just now.
Most recently on high tensile driveshaft bolts. I have the gel version. If they are sending out the liquid version, I might take the quiz.
Thanks for the heads up @Buckgnarly

Edited to add: Took it and scored 100%. Simple, informative course and submission form. Nice job, Permatex.

Well, 7/8 - good enough for the sample.

And I didn't know about the active metal requirement. I've got some stainless assemblies where I used only blue threadlocker, so I guess I disassemble them and do them again with an activator.

Did the test and bottle is on the way. Let's see how long it takes me to lose it like my bottle of red and tube of green. The blue bottles seem to be multiplying though.

Bummer, it won't accept a Canadian address.

Had the course, research and FAQs opened in one window and the quiz in the other. Still scored a 75%.

Bottle on the way. Thanks OP for posting this.

I got it back on Sunday I think it was. Just waiting for it to arrive now. I’ve been using the orange quite a bit. I asked my parts guy at work for some and he called and the parts store said that doesn’t exist so I walked over there during lunch and got it off the shelf and showed them lol. They were amazed. I use blue and orange on an almost daily basis and red occasionally.

It's weird, because one would think without oxygen it'll harden, but ig it just doesn't bond to inactive metals.

I figure it'll be one of those things I forget about and then one day 6 months later I'll have a package show up and wonder what it is.

I got all excited a week or so ago as there was a box in the mailbox (I don't check it often) with hazmat labels...

Turned out to be a can of whole body deodorant
