Lemme put it this way: If you use a sawzall to do anything more demanding than cutting out patterns for your sewing projects, you need a Milwaukee brand blade.

I've told a half dozen people, who went through "good" blades whne cutting steel, to go to H.D. and buy themselves a pack of "The Torch" blades. They all expressed doubt, especially when they learned a 6-pack of them is about $15-20.

Every last one of them has thanked me for it.

"The Axe" (Milwaukee's wood-cutting blade) is really good when it comes to cutting wood... but those 'Torch' blades are unbelievable in steel.

Either way, that's still 50% off. I can't find mine, and I think I'll pick one up sometime soon.

I have a Makita JR3000V I bought at a garage sale for $20. I have been thinking about buying another one (probably Milwaukee).

Being that I am left-handed, my hand tends to depress the "lock-on" button when I am using the Makita. Let go of the trigger...it keeps running...LOL

Yeah, I figured that was part of the deal. I recently changed ISP's (and email address) from the one I had for 10+ years. I was kinda missing the SPAM anyway...my old address was on every list imaginable.

I know I’m going to cop it but; I have never seen the need for a Sawzall or reciprocating saw; it may be because I own just about every other standard power cutting tool but….

When they first came out in Australia, I looked at them and thought when I need one I’ll buy one (usually it doesn’t take me to long to find a need) but the needs has never arisen.

Am I the only one?

It depends.

If you're renovating a house or doing heavy fabrication work on a vehicle... you'll use one often. Indispensable for cuts in tight areas, where the only alternative would be a hacksaw blade pushed & pulled by hand.

If you're more building cabinets and workbenches, then you won't miss it.

Ditto what TNT says. If you EVER do any remodeling or adding on to a house, you can't imagine how useful a Sawzall (recip saw) is. With the proper blade they will cut age hardened lumber, nails, rebar, whatever like butter and make you wonder how you got by without one. I use either Milwaukee on my Sawzall or Lennox brand blades. By the way and not to draw the thread off too much, mine is a standard Sawzall, is there alot of advantage to an orbital action?

I just emailed Miluakee to enquire about the free blade offer ... it's been since 1/17/07 and I havn't recieved my free blade either ... same thing with the free Erwin blades ... the only one that sent me a free blade so far has been Lenox ... makes me think that is the only company that I should buy blades from

I applyed for my blade before christmas and still nothing. I just wrote it off as a scam. Oh well let me know if anyone actually gets one in the mail.
