Cool idea. I can get server racks for free/cheap at our local university.
Oh go for it, they are so sturdy and have feature every 12mm with a four mm tread, they do get much better

I use to have a shorty one that I use as base for a pretty heavy table

So versatile

You should be able to find find cool shelving for it, I think it's mostly standardized? Here's mine, it makes a killer enclosed stereo rack for the shop.

The Pioneer TT is on a slide out shelf and the bottom is large enough for more equipment or albums. The frosted front door is a bonus.

Great mines think alike ELITE all the way.

Sadly around here the Goin rate is $20a shelf, plus the are single side and I want to able to access the bins on each side, 26 instead of 13 is a really big deal for my needs

If you nfess I have always be a Total Freak about reflective tape, it weight noting, last for eyes, peopleseefrom the far plus I la ve to cut things

I Just install two white tape strips that with have red scents when I figure what boxes go where

Ps: the red and green tape on the bike was far to old so I decide to play with a spray can and give it random patterns that actually interatiinal for enhancing visibility

I re-purposed an old computer cabinet into a storage cabinet for my lathe and mill accessories. It started as a cabinet containing a horizontal desktop computer, a monitor viewed through a glass door and a roll-out tray for a keyboard. It was used to control a manufacturing machine in an industrial environment circa early 1990's. The company that I worked for deemed it obsolete and it headed for the scrap metal bin. I asked my boss if I could have the cabinet and to my amazement he requested permission from the company to do so. After about 2 months approval came back, apparently it went all the way up to the corporate VP level in a 100,000 employee company, all for a scrap computer cabinet. They take possible liability very seriously.

I used the rack mounts inside to mount full extension slides for plywood platforms for my extra lathe chucks, rotary table and other equipment. These all come out what was the rear door of the cabinet, the original front now faces the wall in my basement shop. Despite all the weight inside it rolls around nicely.

Here's a rack I repurposed last year. It's pretty old and not a regular size, but it has some good wheels under it for moving around. It's still a complete mess as I'm in the middle of moving house.

I had originally planned to put my dog treat storage containers on the back, hence the plywood separator, but they worked better on other shelving. These use 3d printed French cleats which seem to work well. I'll get a better photo of that when it's finished.

Oh yeah total AKROMILLs fanatic, what happen when you find a perfect product, I'm have almost 600 and of them

Here is a small post I made

The server racks are also a extremelly made structure, I wish I can get more for free-ship but people want around $150 for them and I can nit justified the expense

French cleat are so wonder and easy to make I'm usually worried about the plastic losing the bolts but most times a fender washer those the trick

Hey thanks for sharing, the more projects the better
