Hello,

I'm almost finished renovating my garage and I want to begin researching some cabinets to house various things. I want the storage cabinets to have shelving and it will primarily be used for cleaners/lubricants, tools, and other odds-n-ends. I'm looking for something that's tall, sturdy, with doors. I did a quick search and didn't find a thread on this. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Also looking for something that's reasonably priced ... not cheap. Thank you

Look on CL, in the 'business' section. You'll likely find plenty of the standard, industrial, office cabinets (big box, with two doors and adjustable shelves. For what you say you are storing, this would be great. You'll likely find a place near you with a warehouse full of them.

+1. I am looking for similar... I was originaly thinking of tear drop shelving but i think it would be too much and not get the most out of it.

Thanks for the response, that's a good idea.

How about the Gladiator or Kobalt free standing cabinets ... Does anyone have any thoughts on those ?

This is what I have. It is a nice metal cabinet that I got for free. It is 7' tall and 3' wide. Kitchen cabinets can be bought at garage sales from people who remodel their kitchens.

You can go out and buy something expensive. And they will look great. So it is really up to you on what you want to do in the way of cabinets. Have fun!!

I scored some nice used upper kitchen cabinets off CL that also came with a freestanding pantry that has two doors with pull out shelves so you can access things in the back without having to move anything or dig for it.

^ ^ This. For kicks last night I was looking around Craigslist on FREE section and there are lots and lots of free cabinets, free tables, etc that would be great for garage. Just type in different city name at start of URL and you can "shop around" nationwide. Great for seeing what's out there.

The ultimate score would be to find vintage 50's or 60's metal kitchen cabinets that are terrific when re-purposed for garage.
