I spent a night at my GFs grandmas house before leaving on a ferry to move to Norway.
I helped her and her 50 YO mentally handicapped son clean up the garage/woodworking shop that the old man had left behind when he died in 2005.
I could only take a little of the tools, since my car and trailer were already very overloaded and I had some hills to get up in Norway.
The old man was a jack of all traits. He owned a metalworking shop, built quite a few houses and spent his freetime and old age on woodworking and general maintenance. His son has been using his garage shop to lightly refurbish old furniture and wooden sculpures, but organizing and cleaning are not one of his strong suits.
I left behind amongst other things, a Beta pipewrench, a Craftsman hammer and some power tools since my GFs uncle claimed he used them all the time. Not wanting to "rob" him or upset him, I left the tools behind.
I did get some good tools though, he only uses his parts-store china toolbox with shadowed china tools, so he didn't mind me taking some old tools.
I left a lot of tools, some were no name tools, some were to big and heavy for me to take along, and some were just of no interest to me.
Bonney, Facom, Elora, Würth, Beta, Bahco, Dowidad, Gedora, Witte, Geilo, PB Swiss, Weller, Siemens, Kamasa, Nicholson, Viiala, Talbot, Tome Feitera, CeKa (CK), Belzer, Indestro and some noname stuff.
I also got some taps, router bits, and a nice leather tool belt.
On the way to Denmark we stopped at the Faroe Islands for 8 hours, loading and unloading passengers and trucks. I found a toolstore down by the docks that had a good selection of Knipex and Wera. I got the Knipex 86 03 250 pliers wrench for a fair price. I haven't seen these in Iceland so I snapped it up, betting that it would probably be more expensive here in Norway.
