Seems simple enough. I think it would be a good idea to build in some spot for your fingers, so you can pull the tools out easier. Maybe tape some rounded bits of wood to the tool handles in strategic locations before spraying the foam.

French-fitting? That's called FOD prevention.

Novel way to achieve it, but nothing new in the aviation, power generation, nuclear industries.

Guess the French have to have their own name for everything...

I've always seen that called shadowing.

That looks pretty nice. I first thought "frenched" as in headlights when I read the title and was halfway expecting so see some sort of trick drawer mod :lol_hitti

Now I have a new idea for tool storage

I like that idea ! But I would make an over sized form so I could then cut it down to have square corners. The finger hold idea is good too. You could get creative with the fabric choice also. I saw some snap on fabric somewhere.

I believe I saw that here years ago, or maybe a different site. Cool none the less. I wish I could do that, but it would **** every time I bought new tools.

My thoughts too, I have more pliers (and other tools you work by squeezing the handles together) than drawer space. As a result they get piled on top of each other.

That's not much different than the ones that were selling floral foam covered in black T-shirt material. I had a sample to report on. I didn't really care for it myself.
