I want to install a basketball hoop on the concrete around our in-ground pool. I was going to weld the hoop/pole onto a plate, like 12"x12", and install anchors at the 4 corners of plate. I want this removable with regular bolts, probably in the 1/2" size. Of course I don't want a studs like Redheads sticking out of the concrete and looking for a good threaded anchor that can be used over and over. Any suggestions?

Mcmaster has removeable/reusable concrete anchors. There's an expanding piece that acts like a threaded insert. The bolt is removable. The threaded insert is permanent.

You can plug these to keep trash out. I just use an air tank and a long skinny blow gun. The air tank will last long enough to blow out a couple of holes.

Hilti drop ins is the way to go. Never seize the threads so removal is easy. Take a piece of same size thread rod and cut a screwdriver slot in it for making a flush mount plug when not in use to keep **** out of the anchor and to protect the threads.

Use stainless hardware if it's near the pool. Won't stop the degradation due to corrosion, but it will slow it down. Steel hardware in that environment, especially under wet foot traffic, won't last long.

Look at the installation of pool covers where they drill in concrete and put in "hidden" drop in connectors. Do some searching for YouTubes of pool cover installs. Here's website where they describe the anchors as:
. . . . Loop Loc - - - brass anchors

Don't jerry rig it as you'll have to live with that forever. I'd use a bunch of anchors so you're sure it will be secure.
