Friday Pawn Shop Score!

Went to one of my usual pawn shops at lunch today and scored my first John Deere tool, although it is of new vintage, and a cool old Craftsman 1/4 drive socket set. The set contained an older ratchet and a V series breaker bar, and a mix of Craftsman, Bonney, and other sockets. The breaker bar appears to me to be the only original part of the set. Can't wait to hit the yard sales tomorrow!

Oh yeah, I paid $4.00 for everything.

Very nice. Never seen a ratchet like that.

I think it is a Quick Clean ratchet. You push the center button down all the way and you can remove the guts for cleaning and oiling. There are no external retaining rings or clips. This is the second 1/4 drive breaker bar that I have come across, does anybody really need or have a use for a breaker bar this size?

I was kind of surprised that the John Deere adjustable is made in Taiwan. This is the first John Deere tool I have ever encountered at a sale so I know very little about them. It seems to be well made though.

Yeah I'm lucky with the pawn shops. We only have three in town and I have a good relationship with the employees at two of them. They usually call me when something good comes in like the 24" Snap on Breaker Bar/Rachet that I currently have on lay away!

So I'm surprised to see that in a metal case. I'd bet early production...

Ok some more pawn shop scores this Saturday. It seems to be a Craftsman kind of weekend!

First up a pair of Craftsman =V= 3/8 breaker bars and a new 12 oz. ball pein hammer. The two breaker bars look like they have very slight differences so I am guessing they are from different eras. $11.00
