Frieze board to corner board details?

I am looking for some drawings or best practices to sort out how I am going to do my frieze board to corner board transitions.

Does the frieze normally go on first, then corner boards butting up to the bottom of the frieze such that the frieze is continuous around the perimeter of the building? If not, does it look ok if the frieze is proud of the corner boards in thickness?

Thx.

Soffit, then frieze, then corners, then siding.

At least that’s what we do with Hardy.

Around here they run the corner boards first and **** the frieze into the corner board. On the gable end they run the siding first and lay the frieze on top of the siding. It appears there are definitely some regional differences. In the end it’s one of those things 99.9% of people will never notice.

They do it cause it's cheap not because it's good.
