I have an old Frigid 342G pedestal fan that I bought years ago, and absolutely love. Today, I wasnt thinking, and plugged it onto a much to long cord while I was wiring my new shop building. Before long, I smelled the magic smoke...and managed to catch it before anything caught on fire. That being said, I need a new cord.

I am having a hard time identifying this plug type. It has "Kawasaki KS-5", along with "125V 7A" molded into it. It is a 3 pin female, with the center pin slightly offset.

Any ideas?

The receptacle is shot also. Chances are the loose connection was the cause, not a long cord.

Easiest would be to permanently connect a cord and eliminate the receptacle.

After looking for hours for the right parts, I ended up doing exactly what you suggested, and hard wired a new cord.

It looks like there was actually a bass connection inside the fan that caused the mess,. With all that taken care of, it runs better than it ever has. Thank you!!
