The heater I purchased is propane-powered. The link you sent specifically states the following:

No person shall sell, offer for sale or install a secondhand space heater, or a secondhand portable stove which uses kerosene, range oil or number 1 fuel oil for fuel

I'm guessing that's the difference!

Gotta love when you're working from home and knowing they are building a new house across the street, you hear heavy machinery pretty close to home. I peek my head outside one day last week and this is what I see:

No warning from the builder, or anyone, for that matter. They're just ripping up my yard for whatever reason.

I spoke to the builder and he informs me that they are hooking up the water for the new lot across the street, so they're tapping into mine. Again, not a single word of warning or the courtesy of a heads up.

This was their first attempt at covering up their mess:

And this was their second attempt at covering up the mess, after they (I believe) finally accomplished their goal (note the huge tire mark):

Needless to say, I was and still am pissed. I get the whole aspect of an easement and how the town owns the first X number of feet, but this all falls back on my shoulders and come springtime, I'll be the one out there fixing this ****-hole (pun intended) that was left behind. I cannot wait for this last house to be completed and for all this construction to be no more. So over it already.

No HOA, and as annoyed as I've been with him over the past year or so, he did finish the garage/foundation work and has followed up on most of the issues I brought to him.

My guess is when he seeds the new lot across the street in the spring, he'll tell the guys to spray the hydroseed on that area of my front lawn. That's the one good thing about them building another house. I'm guaranteed to see him often until it's finished and can annoy the **** out of him until it's done.

Gotcha. I guess you can just bug him every time you see his truck across the street. I had a similar issue with my contractor and I just sicked my wife on him.

I've done most of the interacting with him since we purchased the house, as I work from home 2x/week and see him more than she would normally. But she's definitely the "ace in the hole", if need be!

Unfortunately, like you stated, that looks to be within the utility easement and not considered yours, (even though you have to maintain it and pay tax on it). What's pretty foolish is normally in a new development all the water service laterals are installed prior to the road being paved, this way nothing has to be excavated again.

They were also not tapping into "your" water line, they were tapping the water main. There is only one main in the street and all the house services tie into it separately.

This is a terrible time of year to do that kind of work here in the northeast. It's impossible to do a proper cleanup and restoration. They should fix it in the springtime, if they do not, call the water utility. If the water dept didn't do the actual tie-in, they have the records and a bond for whoever did.

Wow that Water Main I would be ******** about as well. I have just noticed the construction on my street they resurveyed the whole street except my property and I am very ******** about it since they {construction} disrupted/removed my pins on 3 corners and then just said ah not our problem.... Right?! It looks like complete and utter **** and I have to deal with that until springtime. Could it be worse? Sure, but that's not the point. The point is my lawn was finally in great shape after spending money on an irrigation system and ponying up for a lawn care service and now I have this giant mess in my yard with deep *** tire tracks running through it.

Saturday afternoon, my wife took the boys over to her parents so they could get in some quality time with their grandparents. This meant that I could get in some guilt-free garage time. And since it was in the mid-30s, it also gave me a good excuse to try out my new Dyna-Glo propane torpedo heater.

When I got into the garage, the temp was right around 32 degree. After roughly 30 minutes running on low, the temp had increased roughly 12 degrees, to 44. Even at 44, the chill had definitely been cut and the garage was fairly comfortable:

Aside from watching the latest Obsessed Garage YouTube video, I took care of some cleanup/tidying that I had been putting off.

I still need to hang all my BMW prints, but will wait until the M3 arrives and is parked so I can get a clearer idea of how I want everything arranged. Being out there for a few hours was great, almost therapeutic. I cannot wait until warmer weather arrives.

On a somewhat related note, we've become very friendly with our newest neighbors who live directly across the street. The husband is a car guy, through and through. Has an AMC Hornet race car, 700+ hp Plymouth Laser, notchback Mustang, and recently picked up a C5 Z06 Corvette. I envision lots of beers and cars in our future. He even coined the term "Beer-n-Stare", for those times when it's too cold to do anything but sit in the garage, drink beers and stare at our toys.

I see your point, but the counter already hangs over the cabinets a few inches. I didn't need it to hang over that much more. I won't be sitting very often. If I'm working in the garage, 9 times out of 10, I'll be on my feet. The stool is more for when I want to sit and relax and watch something on TV in between jobs or whatever.

I pretty much only take my car through touchless washes in the winter, but as you know, they really don’t do a great job. Your results look fantastic though, how dirty was the car ahead of time? Maybe touchless wash followed up with ONR at home? Love to hear your thoughts!

Granted, it hasn't snowed very much around here, up to this point. Which, in and of itself, is weird. That said, I leased the car in November and this was the first time it's been washed. So it was pretty dirty.

I think the key, at least from what I saw, is to drench the panels with the diluted ONR in a spray bottle. The more lubrication, the better. But I also think the touchless followed up with the ONR at home is not a bad idea for a truly filthy car. Keeping in mind that most car washes reuse water and even the touchless bays can still cause some marring of the paint.

But us in the colder climates don't really have a choice. If you do end up getting and trying the ONR, let me know what you think! I was very happy with the product and look forward to using it on a more normal basis, to help minimize how dirty my car does get in the winter.

Fair enough, and I don't actually know, but I'd think the chances of finding an S54 are probably easier than finding an S38, no?! At the very least, the S54 would (or should) be cheaper, since they would be more readily available.

I've only driven an S54 once in my life, about 3 months ago when I first started looking for an E46 M3. There was a TiAg silver M3 for sale about 30 minutes from me. Had some Dinan parts, but the paint was in pretty bad shape and both mirrors had some bubbling. That said, the car drove great and I enjoyed the **** out of my 10 minute joy ride.

Ignore the scraping noise. That's not the car running nor the roof of the car scraping while being loaded. It was one of the seller's neighbors shoveling their driveway.

This was taken this past Saturday. Driver has run into some weather-related delays with all the snow in the mid-west, so he's hoping to arrive tomorrow or Saturday. As long as it's before Sunday (which is the day we're having my youngest son's first birthday party), it'll work out just fine.

To say I'm excited would be a massive understatement. It's been a long process and though this car isn't perfect, I am confident it can and will be, one day. I'll provide more photos and videos once she arrives and I can fully assess the car.
