Yes, hardly anything sticks and if it just it usually wipes right off.

That's awesome...not that my wheels are tough to clean now (I use bead maker on them after every wash), but sounds like it'll be even easier.

Same here. Power washing takes most of the brake dust off and a little agitation with a brush gets the rest. No wheel cleaner needed.

:rocker: Great to hear!

Getting back to the garage for a moment. I placed my order for the OG Stainless Steel Pressure Washer Shelf (OG Stock Photos): shelf

0U9A0728_5ee38ad5-914a-4b1f-b57e-937bf3b3af24_800x.jpg

I placed a separate order on Amazon for 4 anti-vibration mounts to mount my SunJoe (once I completely disassemble it) to the shelf.

The mounts are the same one this guy used with his SunJoe SPX3000. In the meantime, I'll need to figure out how to wire a power switch for my SunJoe...if anyone has any good DIY's or tips, please advise. I know NOTHING when it comes to electrical.

And on that note, I'll probably be looking to trim the power cord for the SunJoe to lose all the excess cord I won't be needed. I've made my own extension cord in the past, but I'm not sure how to shorten an existing cord, if anyone has any good info to pass along that might help me.

Lastly, since the basement is the next part of the house we are attacking, I'm going to try and get that somewhat cleaned up and take a bunch of photos so I can document the basement finishing project, from beginning to end.

As I look to up my detailing/paint correction game, my first toy has arrived. I know it's received some negative flack in the FB OG group (#becauseRupes), but as a weekend warrior and having literally just used this on my Accord, I think it's a great product, especially at the price:

Now to order the accompanying microfiber and foam pads.

Oh and my old 335i is for sale. The seller messaged me on Facebook to inform me. It certainly didn't have 465 whp when I sold it...wow!

Finally got in some quality time with the M3 over the weekend. On Friday, I had the Passenger Airbag recall done at BMW of Warwick. This is the only photo I managed to get of the car in the service waiting area:

50123893747_7fd8710ef2_c.jpg

On my way home, I drove by a nearby, ritzy neighborhood and found something that doesn't happen very often. The perfect photo op:

On Saturday, the wife and I had a rare child-free afternoon, so we decided to make some lunch reservations to celebrate her recent birthday. And of course we took the M3 out, even though temps were in the 90s all weekend:

Stop 1 - lunch & drinks

Stop 2 - drinks

50127088021_131fc32e66_c.jpg

And last but not least, while I was at the BMW dealership on Friday, I chatted with my salesman for a bit. Really nice guy. Once I sat down at his desk, he told me he was going to check on the status of the build. I told him not to bother, I check just about every hour on the hour, so I knew it was still scheduled for production but hadn't actually entered production yet.

So that leads me to my next point. My next daily driver will be a 2021 BMW M340i. Portimao Blue with Cognac Vernasca Leather w/ contrast stitching:

No LSD in that, and too bad BMW has killed EU Delivery from factory. You might find you miss forced induction vs sweet song of ITB's. Thanks for detailing tips.

I chatted with a guy today at local S&S, he had a M2 and I was out with the touring but my tandem Yak was on the roof. He was wondering if we used it alot and I said evey weekend!

Just a heads up, but the M340i does have an LSD, and is a turbocharged 3.0L. And you're very welcome for the detailing tips...hope they prove helpful.

That's awesome!

Nice!! That should be fun. Lots of power. And a color that you you can see your detailing progress.

Bingo! I considered the Dravit Grey, but I like my "colors", especially blue. This will now be my 3rd straight blue daily driver.

And the power...when I drove it and felt how comfortable it could be, that was what basically decided it for me to go with one instead of an F80 M3. I thought the M3 would be a bit too much as a daily driver around where I live. The M340i just seems like the perfect all-around workhouse. Great on gas, nearly 400hp, Apple CarPlay and other modern tech features and a killer deal to boot. Couldn't pass it up.

LSD is finally back oh my. BMW made a step forward again, company had been going backwards imo. Another Lease? Dig the color, I'll be picking up an off lease truck next year. It's now needed as I seem to be doing more repairs around my gal's house and we might sell our's and by a joint place.

M340 come in iDrive?

EDIT just did a quick review of car. Nice but $$ nearly same cost as M4 with decent option list.

Haha, yep. And yes, it's unfortunate they got rid of European Delivery, though I did read that the BMW CCA has reached out to BMW in an effort to see if BMW will allow at least CCA members future EU experiences. It was definitely on my bucket list, so I'm hoping this gains some traction.

And yes, another lease. Unless something drastic changes, I envision either buying out the lease or buying another off-lease M340i towards the tail end of my 3 year lease.

What kind of truck(s) are you considering?

And I assume you mean XDrive (all their cars nowadays have iDrive, I believe). So yes, it is offered in XDrive, but I'm getting a RWD and will eventually get dedicated snow tires.

Would be looking at another Ford F150 eco boost. Would get another 4 door with 5.5 bed, Liked it drove well all around in our conditions unless you got crazy with mashing gas and then in wet it was bit dangerous.

Those Eco boosts are pretty legit. Speaking of, I'm sure by now you've seen the reveal of the new Bronco?! Man, if I wanted to get back in a truck, I'd be ALL over that 4 door version. Looks fantastic....Ford really nailed it!

If anyone's interested, here's what the front lip will look like on the M340i (the blue is the same color I ordered):

splitter looks good.

I haven't followed up on the LSDs of BMWs. Does your model have an electronic Diff, or a mechanical diff. I knew for a few years a manual diff was a port installed option.

Funny you say that, I got a new F150 EcoBeast back in March in prep for future house projects. Crazy how many more features it has than my '13 BMW.

It's an electronic diff. Supposedly a really good one!

Funny you mention that. My 2013 Raptor had way more features than my 2007 335i. And we're talking about, at the time, a 5 year old truck. These new trucks are ridiculous with their tech and amenities.

And not to pour salt in a wound, but Euro Delivery experience was awesome. I did it in Sept 2012 for my M3, and it was the same time the US M5 was being launched and got to go with a group of M5 guys up to the M Studio. Epic week driving the car and exploring.

Has met Matt Russell at OFest before, and he was the Head of US BMW M, and he got us hooked up to get the M Studio tour.

I can attest to the awesomeness of BMW’s Euro Delivery, even only as bystander. While at BMW’s Welt a few years ago we got to witness the process, man that would be amazing to actually own the car.

Congrats on the new daily, quite the sweet ride :rocker:

Oh man, you lucky SOB! So awesome you got to experience all that. It's definitely all about "who you know"!!

I'm still holding out hope that the CCA will be able to get something done.

Ha, that's awesome that you got to vicariously experience it!!

And thanks, man! Having driven two of them now, the anticipation is KILLING me. And I'll probably be lucky to have it before Labor Day at this point. Oh well, the wait will be worth it, for sure! Luckily the lease for the Accord doesn't end until February, so it's not like I will be without a vehicle.

Having taking the tour I will agree, granted I was not taking delivery of a car but I drove by on the way home from a weekend in Venice. I was stationed in Spangdahlem just down the road from Bitburg and das Nurburg.

Got a couple of smaller projects done last weekend before heading out to the Cape for a much needed vacation. The passenger side Angel Eyes on my M3 had shifted somewhat, which annoyed me. They're not held on by much....two plastic clips and double-sided tape. So I removed the headlight cover and added a bunch more 3M double-sided tape and am pretty confident they'll stay put (for now):

Next up was finally getting around to installing the LED kit for my son's Raptor. Pictures of disassembly:

Haha, it's so true!! There might be a stereo upgrade in it's future.

Now polish that Raptor. Give it some pop. lol

And what, I didn't already consider that?!

Yes we are going to need a raptor correction series.

Now you're talking!

Nice job on the lights. Little things like that mean so much to the kids.

Thank you, and yes, you got that right. He was so pumped when he found out. This is what we spent some time doing Saturday while his little brother napped and mom was next door for a neighborhood baby shower (NOT for us...we are done at 2 kids!). Mind you, HE asked to wash the Raptor...this was not my idea (but to see him show interest in one of my passions was quite the feeling):

So awesome. I hope my twins end up enjoying stuff like this.

I obviously am not an expert, but one piece of advice I would offer is to not push or force anything on them. If they happen to ask to do something that I'm doing or I enjoy doing, then that's a win. And that's what happened here!

lol Even using the leaf blower!!!

Ceramic coating next weekend?

For like 10 seconds, haha! It was heavy for him, so he asked me to finish up drying, but the fact that he used it for as long as he did was impressive.

And that's a great idea. Let the Raptor be the testing ground since I'm not yet ready to try a coating on a car myself.

Moving away from the Raptor detailing, I got in a much needed bath day for the M3 Saturday morning :)thefinger water ban), which also gave me an excuse to put my slightly more "dialed in" pressure washer setup to good use.

By slightly more "dialed in", I mean I removed the SunJoe motor from the casing and mounted it to my stainless steel shelf:

I was afraid the pressure washer motor would be much louder being outside of the casing, but honestly, it doesn't seem much louder to me, so I'll take it! I still need to shorten the power cord and lengthen the wires for the On/Off switch (as well as mount it somewhere), but the maiden voyage for this setup went off without a hitch:

I'm incredibly happy with how long the Collinite 845/Jescar Powerlock combo has held up. Granted, it's not my daily driver and it's in the garage when not being driven, but still, I last applied it May of 2019. It's held up extraordinarily well. And it's always topped with Beadmaker after every single wash, which is a big help!

Speaking of detailing, my newest toy arrived on Saturday (thanks in part to @mpower5266 for helping push me to make the purchase):

We also had our deck cleaned in preparation for staining, as the stain I had applied in 2017 has already faded quite a bit (my deck gets NO shade). Hoping to have it stained this coming weekend or shortly thereafter:

And lastly, some M340i news. My car had been scheduled for production since roughly early July. However, the week it was scheduled for came and went and my car was still "scheduled for production". I then reached out to my CA (who is fantastic for anyone in the MA/RI area looking for a BMW...PM me and I'll get you his info) and turns out my production slot was pushed back due to a few factors.

He was then able to get me into the earliest production slot allowed by BMW for a RWD. And better yet (at least I believe so), it's being built in North America (which I assume means the Mexico plant), so hopefully quicker turnaround in terms of once it's built, getting to my local dealership. My previous production slot was scheduled to be built in Germany.

Currently scheduled for production week of 8/23...so fingers crossed!

Congrats on the M340 and I am sorry for making you spend money. haha.

Thanks man. One positive that came from this is that I was able to add the red M Sport brakes that were added as an option for the 2021 model year, instead of the blue. I think the red calipers will be a really nice accent for the blue paint.

Nice work on that pressure washer setup!

Thank you! Got all my inspiration from the OG Facebook Group. So much good info there.

Why is the tile up in the garage? Good luck with quick processing of your new BMW! Wait is always killer.

Had just replaced the rear brake pads on the wife's Grand Cherokee, so I had removed some of the tiles for the jack. I absolutely love the Swisstrax flooring, but I've found that the weight of the Jeep is enough to cause some indents from the jack wheels. So it's worth the 5 minutes it takes to remove the necessary tiles.

Thanks, man! I cannot wait for this car to arrive. I like the Accord, but the CVT transmission is really starting to annoy the hell out of me. And the car is just boring to drive. I don't deal well with boring daily drivers.....clearly!

Finally had a chance to get caught up with all your updates. New car announcement (congrats!), car washing setup is getting dialed in, new additions to your polishing line-up, quality time with the kids, some new car mods, good stuff all around!

Cool idea stripping the pump out of the sunjoe. Maybe you could build a box to slip over it and cover it up? Even if it's just a painted plywood box with an open bottom it wold look nice. You could even mount the switch right to it. Just a thought!

Thanks, man....I agree! haha

And yeah, I stole that idea of stripping the pump from a specific post on the OG Facebook group. I was like, "why didn't I think of this"?! As for covering it up, I might actually be in the minority here, but I like the look of the exposed pump. So I think I'm going to keep it, as is, but I appreciate the suggestion, nonetheless!

We had a really cool sunset & rainbow one day last week. My neighbor took these photos of my house from his porch:

I then ran outside and took this:

We had the painters come on Saturday to stain the deck. Even though the current stain had faded quite a bit, there were still some areas where the color was fairly prominent. My wife and I both disliked the color of the last stain we went with, so we opted to go much darker this time. The painter talked to one of the guys he usually gets his paint/stain from and he suggested going with a black (semi-transparent, I believe) stain would give us the color we were aiming for...a sort of blackish-grey/brown. Here is what it looks like after one coat. We think another coat on the flooring might be in order, but I'm really digging how it came out:

And since I picked up my oldest son from daycare in the M3 yesterday (to surprise him), I had to stop and take some glamour shots since she was still incredibly clean having not been driven since her last wash:
