Good post. Non tool educated people have been known to spend money for things like cut up ratchets.

I know - it sux. I have used the "ask seller a question" feature - most commonly, a book available (to this day) from the local Harley dealer (on order, takes a week) for about $32 plus tax someone was selling for $400, then 350...

I asked the seller the following question - "Um, I think you have a misprint in your ad you need to correct, these sell at the dealer for $32, and your price is $350. Just thought you'd like to know... "

Of course they never replied - it was then listed for $300 as "Genuine, new, factory manual, in original wrapping extremely rare, etc..."

Guess fishing must be pretty good... or not...

You can "ask a question" of the seller such as "are you aware half the handle has been cut off, if so are you knowingly trying to rip people off?".

It's possible the seller doesn't realize the ratchet has been cut down.

It's not like these "Brand New" Hilti adapter chucks that are being sold by someone who has over a 1,000 other Hilti items for sale including actually new items.

It has some grinding on the outside edges of the open end, but should not effect the use of the wrench

You have to look at it from the other perspective though. Some sellers may just honestly not know something they're listing isn't either listed correctly else in the condition it ought be. Not everyone knows one end of a spanner from the other.

Btw, that's not a direct reference to the spanners posted. It's just a general saying.

I see nothing wrong with this. He probably lists his original wrecked Ford Pinto as a "Modified Stock Car"
