Somehow, I keep accumulating ratchets, until there's duplicates. Looked and saw that there was a flex T72 in my box, along with a flex 936 and a flex 831. I've really been trying to cut down on hoarding, so two of them really needed to go.

Then, had a better idea: Expand capability instead. I ordered two rebuild kits from SO, and rebuilt one as a 1/4" hex bit driver, and the other as a compact 3/8". So, eliminated two redundant ratchets, and added two very useful ones to my capability.

So the new rebuild kits fit in the old ratchet handles no problem? I'd like to have one of those bit ratchets. Just don't feel like spending over $100 for a little ratchet and 5 bits.

Just the kit. There is another thread shows what I did. Just make sure you get the correct kit. You can not convert older to a t72, but they made a kit for older ratchets as bit ratchets as well. I converted an older one.

An 831 got the bit ratchet kit. It did not need a new plate. Part number is RKRTMM830. Cost was $11.60.

The 3/8 went on a 936, the rebuild kit included the plate. Part number is RKRFC936. Cost was $10.30

Here is when I did the T72 to a bit ratchet. I store spare kits as well in case I break a ratchet. I converted a lot of ratchets over the years... probably 10 1/4 to make them 3/8 and some of them bit ratchets.
