You guys that have late model Snap-on boxes, do you ever wish you could switch your drawers over to detents? I've thought about it, and the only way it seems possible is with entirely different slides; the kind that have detents on them....

i hated the Lock n roll **** for a while, i just got used to using it. the best thing about it is when i go to lock up, i can look down the side and if i see the black tabs, i know my drawers are shut.

You can just pull them out. Unless you move your toolbox around a bunch it won't be a problem. If you need to move it, just lock it to hold the drawers from opening.

I did that to one at work that I had pulled the casters off and mounted to a frame in the tool room.

My home box still has the slides and it has confused many people that have been at my house (I do auto work on the side)

You can pull out the Lock'n Roll and put magnets on the back of the drawers. I did it on an older ball bearing Craftsman that I didn't like the detent system on (plastic cut loop in center of drawer), it worked great, but like detents the drawers can still slide out while moving especially if there's a lot of weight in the drawer. I've gotten used to the Lock'n Roll but there are times it's a pain in the **** like when you have to go through several drawers looking for something that you forgot where you put it.

I really don't get the hatred around here that Lock n Roll gets. I think it's a great design, it's easy to use, it's simple and it just works. It certainly doesn't slow me down opening a drawer..

I like the lock and roll also. You don't even have to think about it. I have a Mac, and also a Matco with detents, and they **** compared to the lock and roll. The only thing I don't like is when an idiot tries to open a drawer and yanks on it.
