That Brookstone bag looks like it is meant to either carry a small dog or the prissy stuff women carry around with their purse-dogs.

It even has a dogbone on the side.

The train was part of the Illinois State Fairgrounds amusement area. It was recovered from a pond into which vandals had pushed it into from the bridge that carried the track.

The engine is a Wisconsin 2 cylinder and NOS parts are available. It has been rebuilt. Work continues on the damaged cab and fabrication of a missing 4-wheel truck.

Great find, that's too bad, and good luck! :)

Re: From the bag; New bag

This is a CraftMates tote from Amazon.com:

It has six (6) of these inside; They come with it from Amazon:

This is how it looks out of the box:

And this is how it is used! This is a great small parts organizer for less $ than Lowes and Home Depot:

LESS THAN $30 !!

Water pump packing wrench maybe 1920's or 1930's.

Probably aftermarket if not specifically marked. Most likely fit a bunch of makes and models.

Trouble understanding the internet; tried searching for MODAL tool box and got pages of references to a software called MODAL.:headscrat

This is what I found today, would like to know what it is AND would like to know how your frame your search inquires to get the results you want. Thanks for the help.:bounce:

Umm the box says "Model" not "Modal". Might have been a sticker denoting what "Model" it was.

Am I the only one who started reading thinking that stuff was found inside the Goodwill bag?

Sorry for the confusion...started thread to show finds in Bloomington and Central Illinois thrift and resale shops.

I titled the thread when I featured the Brookstone Tool Co. bag. This was a company from the 80's sort of like Sharper Image is today.

I add to this thread my finds so as to keep them in one place.

This is my first post, so please forgive me if I am out of line, but were you able to find any information on the Disston Adjustable Hole Saw? I have one exactly the same and I'm not really sure how to use it.

Hello rchappell, welcome to Garage Journal!
I have not found any information on the Disston Hole saw...I did take it apart for restoration, and found a few bent pieces that may have been the reason for it not being able to adjust, I'll find out more when it is reassembled.

I am in Jacksonville Illinois; we have the regular GoodWill and we have the GoodWill Distribution Warehouse.
The warehouse sells at $.99/lb.!! It's a huge dis-ordered yardsale!

wow, cool old thread I know, but I picked up a movie poster for the frame at Goodwill the other day for $4. clerk said, "I missed that, I would have bought it", so they do get the good stuff first.

anyway, I pulled the poster to put another in and found a sheet of uncut basketball trading cards hidden in the back. sold on FB for $50...

they also had a NOS Craftsman Phillips screwdriver marked 4/$1.99, but they refused to sell it to me because "they can't sell them individually, you have to buy 4" even though there was just the one...

I generally have better luck at the Salvation Army...

Went to the Goodwill Distribution Center today...everything is $.99/lb.:
Found this=
The tool has the following: top half =flat blade; philips tip; tack puller; wire stripper; bottle opener. Middle of the tool (triangle cut-out) measures diameters. Bottom has knife or scissor sharpener (two discs); alligator wrench; glass cutter (small disc); the edge has file teeth and there is a scale in 1/8s but not numbered. Lettering says: ELECTRA VOICE CORP. CHICAGO USA PAT APLED F

The gray parts bin are 32 bins and 8 wall brackets.

All told $6...
