Howdy, folks. My name is Shane. I live in middle Georgia.
Just stumbled upon your little community while doing some research for my massive undertaking of a project, for which i am both under-skilled and underfunded. Perhaps that makes me overly ambitious? Toe-may-toe, tuh-mah-toe.
Anyway, I have only just begun on my garage project. We've been in this house for about a year and half, and thus far the extra bedroom has been sufficient to meet my man-cave needs. However, the wife keeps hinting at wanting another kid, so I suppose I should get started on a new place to store my **** before i get put on a 9-month eviction notice.
So. Over the past few weeks we've been hosting chainsaw parties. I buy a few cases of beer, a mess of steaks, and my buddies come over to help me take down all the trees standing in the way of grading a nice flat spot to build my backyard hideout. It's a very slow process, but for now it works. We're making progress, and still managing to have some fun standing around the fire at night burning the fruits of our labor.
Sometime over the next month or so I expect to have enough cleared out to be ready to bring in some machinery and actually start the real work. The biggest hurdle for now is deciding WHAT to build. I have some ideas, just need to work them all together just right...
I'll keep you all posted on the progress, and look forward to hearing all of your thoughts as we go forward.
