front wheel stud removing tool

where can I find a press like in this picture? I need to replace all 12 of them on the front hubs with longer ones.

You can use c-clamp, or if not going to reuse the studs, hammer them out.

I have knocked them out with an air hammer before.

Run a lug nut on it flush with the end of the stud and use a BFH to knock it out. Once it is broken loose, spin the nut back off. By doing that if you have a stubborn one, the stud will not be peened too large to fit thru the hole in the hub.

first, it has 160k on the original wheel bearings, and running good. whacking the hubs with BGH could add some stress to the bearings. 6 lugs on each hub.

it's 4wd, so taking the knockle out can be a *****.

Your local parts shop should have this in their rent-loan a tool stock. It's not really a tool most folk will buy.

how are you going to have enough room to get the studs us with out removing the rotor from the vehicle?

a big clamp that is used for ball joints. the OTC clamp should do the job just fine

I've knocked out studs similar to those using a block of hard maple and a big hammer. They come right out.

Or, if you wanted to make something along this line, would not take a lot of work either, just re-shape the body a bit.

This is exactly what I have done for years and have never had a problem doing it this way.
