Anyone have this box ? I was looking for a new HOME box. This is on sale for 799. I actually like the drawer layout. I have looked at this and the HF 72 in person and really like this one better. It is just as deep but it's much taller. I like the detent better than the HF drawer retention system. This will be a home box/work surface. I would love a snap on or mac but just can't afford it. Does anyone have any insight on this box ? It's also available in black and blue.

There's another thread somewhere on this site about this box and an $85 rebate or coupon. You might want to search around for it.

I thought of that but i like that i can separate the drive sizes. I use 1/4dr the most so i don't really need them all i. 1 drawer. I have the Craftsman module sets along with some stuff on rails. I could put all drive size sockets, ratchet and extensions in seperate drawers. This box is pretty impressive in person. Its really tall. Some may not like it bit I do. What i need to know is if its holding up well or falling apart after a year.

Does anyone know if they offer a layaway program? Guy buying my box is giving me payments weekly and im keeping my box until paid off and so I can store my tools until new box arrives. Whatever box i choose. I searched the.Rural king site and couldn't find anything about layaway. I just want to lock in the sale price until im ready to buy.

It didn't seem any more flimsy than the HF box. To me anyway. Has anyone bought this box ? I have my box pretty much sold and am considering the HF 72 and 56 combination and this rural king box. I for some reason want the rural king box in blue.

Bump.

Family Farm & Fleet has this box (in matte black) with it's matching 72" upper cabinet on sale through the Labor Day weekend for $1299 for the pair.

The metal feels similar to the HF 72" (no, I didn't bring a gauge), but unlike HF the thing is available with a matching top. The HF has a bit better caster under it, but only four versus this unit's six. 22" deep.

If it was gloss black, I woulda brought it home with me, but it's the crinkle black finish which I like but don't love...

Wish there was a rural king close to me, I would go and look at the top chest.

I was in the Niles Michigan store this Thursday. First time ever in a Rural King. Kind of a dumpier but bigger Tractor Supply. They had one last gloss red top. $399. No damage, no dings, no scratches. Asked the store manager if they had more pairs in back. Nope, and not sure if they're getting any more. He says they sold a ton of 'em over the years.

Reached out to corporate customer service - I'll buy a set if they get any more. Haven't heard back yet.

At 800bucks they make good low cost 72" home box/bench.
Not a big deal with no socket drawer, I prefer my sockets flat on rails and separate drawers for drives accessories. box color options good too compared to HF red only .

Look what followed me home the other week.

Rural King had these a $1198 for the set. My Bride gave approval so I grabbed them. They also have them in gloss black and gloss blue. I was torn on grabbing the blue one, pretty much a coin toss.

The bottom roll-away is a notch below the HF 72" in drawer layout and metal thickness, but HF doesn't have a matching top box. Plus HF is $1000 for just their bottom. Another $200 got me top and bottom. These are 22" deep.

The things were very well packaged - not a dent or scratch on them. They're heavy, 475 pounds for the roller, 240 pounds for the chest. RK loaded them up with a fork lift into my pickup. Once home, I slid the bottom down a pair of load ramps into my garage, unpacked it, then slid the top box off the tailgate onto the bottom.

I wish the top drawer in the bottom box was wider, but it swallowed my current hodge podge of sockets (standing up) and ratchets.

Deeper drawers have two slides. All drawers have a detent (sp?) to keep them from rolling open. Came with drawer liners, but they're kinda slippery. I was using Rubbermaid shelf lining in my previous boxes.

The six casters seem to be "okay" quality for a homeowner box. If this thing was in a shop and getting moved regularly, they would probably need to be upgraded.
