Hi everyone,
I have some surplus tools that I'm looking to sell or trade.
Plomb Utility chest- I'm unsure of the exact model number anymore, but this chest is 22- 1/2" long by 7" high by 9-1/4" deep, and has a fixed "mezzanine" sort of arrangement, as well as a dividing strip down the long axis. It's led a hard life; there are six small holes drilled in the bottom and glue residue ( the former owner had a wooden organizer attached to it for plumbing supplies), the front left bottom corner has a broken weld that was repaired with a pop rivet after a welding attempt that put a hole in the steel, a hasp was added by drilling holes, and the whole thing has a drive by two tone paint job. However, the original decal is mostly intact, and an enterprising person could fix this chest correctly with some dolly work and a bit of welding and paint.
I'm asking 40.00 OBO , or will consider trades for Craftsman heritage era boxes, especially the two drawered chests or smaller cases ( flat, no dividers, no handle.
I'm also selling off some Craftsman "long C" items. I'm trying to build a set of all "BE" tools; these are "circle H" and surplus "BE" items-
Partial set of " circle H" 1/2" drive sockets- includes speeder wrench, non- reversible 1/2" ratchet ( you swap the anvil from one side to the other to change directions), a set of ten sockets ( 7/16", 1/2",9/16", 5/8",11/16",3/4", 13/16", 7/8",15/16",1"), as well as three redundant sockets ( 13/16", 7/8" and 1") and one deep well socket ( 13/16").
The case is in pretty decent shape, with original handle and tag, and the finish of the sockets is quite nice ( excepting the surplus ones, which aren't that great).
( the items in front of the case in this photo are "BE" marked, and are discussed below)
I'm asking 40.00 OBO, or would consider trades.
Then there's the "BE " marked long C tools-
3/8" breaker bar- this is in decent shape, with little wear at the joint.
3/8" sliding T handle- this has some corrosion.
1/2" drive sockets- this is a partial set (7/16", 1/2", 9/16",5/8"11/16", 3/4" , 13/16", 1" 1-1/16", 1-1/8") there are two extra 3/4" , an extra 1" and an extra 1-1/16".
I'm asking 30.00 OBO.
I also have three 3/8" sockets- a 9/16", 5/8" and an 11/16".
I'm asking 10.00.
I'm also open to trades for any of these items. I'm looking for-
-Craftsman lower box w/heritage logo from early-mid '40's in any condition
-Craftsman long C items with "BE" stamp, including ball peen hammers, hacksaw, 1/2" universal, pliers, wrenches, any 3/4" tools, and 1/4" breaker bar
-Craftsman heritage tag tool chests like this one,
-metal lathe tooling ( I have a 14" lathe)
-milling machine tooling ( I have a Burke #4)
- Porter-Cable tools, parts, paperwork and other items from the 1940's or earlier
I'm willing to ship the chest, and will gladly ship the other items at the buyers' cost. If you think I'm way off on price, make me an offer.
Thank you,
-James Huston
