Fuel line release tools?

What company makes a better quality tool. The chrome ones regularly break, this is maybe my third set, the colored ones are Harbor Freight specials, not always correctly sized. If I didn’t live in the rust belt, and changed my filters on a strict schedule, this probably wouldn’t be an issue.

Second photo is the filter that took over an hour to remove yesterday. The truck sure runs better with all the gas going to the engine, and not spraying out on the road.

I got a ultra pro master set from napa with all the different sizes 7 or 8 years ago and it has held up great in a shop environment. I am from Alberta so they have survived their fair share of rust and road salt. The kit was around $300 but you can buy them individually. Also if you only need the one size and want one that you know will last maybe worth buying one from snapon

I've run into situations where the only tool that would fit was one of the crappy little plastic top hats.

So, as ever, the proper GJ answer to "which tool" is "all of them". You need a variety of options on hand.

It's always a **** shoot which ones are gonna work, but Toptul, AST & Lisle make me curse less than others, (usually).

Mine are HF, Lisle, AST, and NAPA branded. I pick whichever fits best. Sometimes it's best to cut the barb off and extract the stump.

I spray WD-40 into them let it sit for a while and blow it and all the trash out
before trying to release them, it seems to help, as for as tools, all of them.
