I am looking to purchase a fuel pressure tester. Does anybody have one that they can recommend. My 2002 chevy silverado quit on me today, and I think its the fuel pump. Oh well another reason to buy some new tools.

Thanks, I called napa about a pump they told me no warranty unless I change the connector. I guess thats a problem piece.

I have a complete Mac fuel injection set.
You should be able to get by with a $30 fuel pressure set up.
BTW, the trend in newer cars is to do away with the fuel rail shrader valve test port. Will require "T" into the fuel system. Fuel pressure testing will become more complicated and more expensive; diy'er will be out of luck unless they want to fork over big bucks for the required setup.

Its got about ten gallons in it. Man I really don't want to do this job. Maybe I will call the shop down the road to see how much it would cost. I did my brothers by lifting the bed up with the engine hoist. I have a spray in liner which has been great but now i can't spin the bolts out. Looks like its gonna get changed the hard way

GM except for old cavaliers and 2.4 are very good about adding a schaeder valve
no petcock in the radiator on c/k though

make sure you get the right tank module , I have had an 04 denali sitting on the lift at chrysler cause the indys can't get the right one
highly recommend getting one thru gm , aftermkt pumps don't last

So the tank module is that the whole assembly? I will call chevy in the morning to see if they have one. Any advice on dropping the tank from the bottom? Any way I seem to be getting ahead of my self I gotta check the pressure before I start tearing into this truck. I am pretty sure it is the pump becuase it will run if I keep banging on the tank from underneath

REALLY STUPID QUESTION...........
When was the last fuel filter change? Might be worth a shot.
With the test valves going away, I will be interested to see if they put more test plugs underneath, and run the testers in place of the fuel filter. Then a tester and a PowerProbe would get the job done.

Isn't it a law? Fuel pumps never fail unless 1/2 tank or more.
Fuel gauges can be cheap, Summit sells a little VDO that goes directly on the fuel rail for about $20, and Harbor Freight sells a kit with a bunch of adapters for $30.
I haven't tried one, but a lot of my Mustang friends are happy with Walbro fuel pumps.
If buying Bosch, be careful with the source a BUNCH of Hecho e China have been sold recently.

First, are you sure you need a fuel pressure tester? Without turning the engine on, simply turn the key... if you go back towards the fuel tank, you should be able to hear the pump running...
Second, on my 1994 Silverado, the bolts come out from underneath the bed. It's really not that bad of a job to do if you have a good impact wrench. Just make sure that you disconnect the electrical connections for the tail lamps and that you also disconnect the fuel filler neck from the body. Then get three friends to help you lift.
Once the bed is off, the rest is pretty easy. Just make sure you have flare nut wrenches....

Well I have borrowed one in the past a few times so I figured its time to buy one. A friend of mine helped me chain it back to the house today. It is pretty hot today and I plan on looking at it more in the morning.

This wouldn't by chance have an impact switch that shuts off the fuel pump in a crash would it? I know Fords do, don't know about GM. Sometimes someone bumps it in a parking space, or you hit a pothole too hard, and the switch trips and shuts off the fuel pump.
