I am betting that someone on this forum can tell me how to adjust the crosshair sight in a survey transit I bought, model in the title. I am just a home hack trying to use the transit for some initial elevations to show a contractor kinda what I want. I will depend on him to use a more accurate laser to do the actual work. I think mine is shooting high.

Hard to see in the pictures, but there are a couple of set screws, one on each end. Before I go screwing things up worse, is there someone out there familiar with calibrating these things. I searched for some sort of manual for it, to no avail. And yes, I would send it off to have it done if there are recommendations. But, again, I will just be using it for estimation purposes so just wonder if there is some adjustment procedure I could do on my own. Thanks in advance.

Took some perseverance but I finally came across a place advertising a manual reprint for this transit. Lo and behold, the guy told me that the little 10 page pamphlet does have info in it on how to check and make adjustments to setting the bubble and making some sight fixes as necessary. So, maybe I will able to check the accuracy of this thing on my own soon as I get the manual in the mail.
