I represented Fujitsu in a 6 state area for 14yrs. It has been 11 yrs since leaving that business, but my Fujitsu’s are 14 and 9 yrs old and work perfectly. Mitsu is the #1 brand in the states having been here since the 80’s. Fujitsu entered the US market in about ‘96. Mitsu has the bigger ad budget, but you pay for that. You will not be poorly served by either brand. They are the tops in my opinion and I guess the numbers prove that. Is there much price difference? The contractor gave you a good choice.

Look like the Mitsubishi is about 10-15% more efficient and provides heat down to a slightly lower ambient, but that's about it.
Installer came back and said he can offer either unit for the same price.

He also gave me the option of a GL09 for $700 more. That one is 25 seer vs 17 seer.

Mitsu all day every day....contractors around here that I talk to do not install Fujitsu any more.I personally never liked them...Daiken is another excellent product.

Mitsubishi. I've got a couple of Samsung that haven't been a problem either.

Pick the one with the best local support.

Had a Mitsubishi unit installed with 3 heads in one office area of my business over 12 years ago, still working and very few issues over the years. Had 5 Fujitsu units installed with 15 heads in another area 4 years later and have had many issues, including having to replace 3 of the units and 9 heads just this year.

I rest my case...similar to what I have been told.

Went with the Mitsubishi MUZ/MSZ-JP09WA. I wanted the GL09, but it was on backorder with no ETA.
