In a time when you can buy lightly used an 12,000 dollar Snap-On box for <3,000 dollars a boutique toolbox would be a hard sell. I think it could sell but unless a person knows you and your skills it's going to be hard to find someone to pay you to build a toolbox when you havent done one. There are very few people who get something right the first time. I underestimated the weight of my box and bought cheap under rated casters. I now have a set of better casters but there are still a few thngs I would do differant. The problem is you are fishing with no bait.

didnt matco have customizable drawer setup for their boxes at one time?

maybe they still do :dunno:

to me, this idea would be a hot setup, having a std box shell with the ability to add drawers in 1" or 2" increments.
as tool storage needs changed, so could the drawer layout.

but that would mean (nearly) a lifetime of support and a reasonable cost to add/ change drawers

I'm interested in seeing one that you have already built. I drive through Casper about twice to six times a month and would look at one if you had it.
