JPG: Wrenchguy is correct in his humorous way. yes, we need a few pictures and a few more details. pictures would be great if you are able to post a few. also what is the width of the jaws with them closed and how much does the vise weigh?
Fulton vises were made in the very early 1900's so you probably have one close to that age.

click go advanced , click on the paper clip for attachments, if you have a pic stored or on file click browse, wait for it to load, click upload ,add some text and click submit reply

JPG: just make a new post. just above where you are writing there is a paperclip. click on that and you can post one picture at a time up to 7 pictures per post by hitting the browse button. after you have picked all the pictures for he post then click upload. after they are uploaded then hit submit and they should be on this thread. this is assuming you have pictures saved to your computer to use.

Here's a pic of a Fulton No 12 from another site. Person posting it says it is a 5" vise, for what it is worth. Also has Lowville, NY instead of Oswego in the casting.

"Edwin W. Fulton attended the Carthage public schools, and as a young man learned the trade of machinist with Ryther & Pringle. He was connected with their foundries for a period of seven years and in 1896 entered the employ of Bagley & Sewall, manufacturers of paper machinery, at Watertown. In June, 1905, Mr. Fulton went to Lowville, N. Y., and organized. the Fulton Machine & Vise Company, buying out the interests of Lafayette Wetmore. The entire plant was destroyed by fire in May, 1907, with a loss of $22,000, but was soon rebuilt, business being resumed in October of the same year. At that time the capital was increased from $30,000 to $50,000, and Mr. Fulton continued there until 1924, at which time he disposed of the business and came to Oswego with the Oswego Tool Company as manager. In August, 1930, a new corporation was formed and known as the International Nutyp Tool Corporation, with Mr. Fulton as president and general manager."

BB: the information about Fulton and L. M. V. vises isn't easily found or understood. i have a couple L. M. V. vises so to add a little color to the thread i'll post them and see if they have some similarities to the Fulton vise our OP has.

Drives, maybe Fulton Machinery and Vise became Lowville Machinery and Vise after Fulton sold the company in 1924? Here's a F.M. & V. 2 1/2" wide jaw 825 vise on Ebay.

BB: from what i remember L.M. & V. vises were before Fulton, but it's been a while since i read the articles. the design for the screw being held to the dynamic in back of the dynamic jaw is very unique with these two vises.

Just take pic of vise and instead of sending to another phone number, send that pic-text to your email address instead (ie pic-text to your own email). Then you can EDIT the very 1st GJ post above, click on GO ADVANCED, then click on MANAGE ATTACHMENTS, and up near top click on BROWSE and link the PIC that is on your harddrive. Once you click SAVE after you've found the pic file (ie jpg format), then click UPLOAD and finally SAVE. You'll notice the Browse portion of the Manage Attachments step has 7 boxes so you can add 7 pics to a post.
